Instructechs provides large group, small group, and onsite professional development opportunities tailored to the specific needs of each audience.

  • Large group presentations may introduce or extend teacher knowledge of research based practices for core literacy instruction and/or research based practices for accelerating the reading achievement of below level students
  • Onsite presentations may include staff training, staff meetings, small focus groups, grade level team meetings, one-on-one consulting, and/or instructional modeling.

As a result of the professional development provided by Instructechs, teachers develop an understanding of high quality instruction for all students and how to develop specific interventions for struggling readers.

Praises for Karen Loman, Principal Consultant
“I so appreciated Karen’s knowledge as she worked with our reading facilitators. Next year I will be a district reading coach and I hope to be as helpful to teachers as Karen was with us.”
Tracy Frerichs, Second Grade Teacher, Smithville Primary Elementary School, Smithville R-II School District, Smithville, Missouri
“Karen helped my staff develop a unified focus and data-driven instruction for all students. Our at-risk student population decreased by 12% and the number of proficient students increased 20% in just one year! The teachers in my school now have the tools to help all students learn.”
Brooke Kelly, Principal, Goose Bay Elementary, Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District, Wasilla, Alaska
“My staff was all over the place with communication arts instruction. Karen has helped them develop a focus and a plan for research based strategies that will help all of our students learn. This year laid the groundwork. I think we will see great improvement in student achievement next year.”
Mary Bachkora, Principal, St. John Francis Regis School, Kansas City, MO
“The district reading facilitators met with Karen to problem solve, plan, and prepare the facilitators to help their grade level team. The facilitators left the meetings prepared and confident. We had a very successful year and look forward to continuing our work with Karen next year.”
Michelle Kratofil, Director of Curriculum and Staff Development, Smithville R-II School District, Smithville, Missouri
